What you learn with us
Of course you want to pass your exam. But we also want you to drive safely and calmly long after it. So from lesson one we focus on observation, anticipation and making your own decisions.
- Vehicle control: shifting, clutch work and steering without thinking about it
- Observation and hazard perception in busy city traffic
- Merging, exiting and zip-merging on the A2 and A79
- Special manoeuvres: parking, turning around, hill starts
- Independent driving on navigation or directions
- Driving in the dark, in the rain and in rush hour

Start lessons at 16.5 and take your exam at 17. After that you drive with a coach beside you until you turn 18.

Questions about car lessons
Nationally the average is around 40 lessons, but that says little about you. If you already have experience it can be far fewer. After your trial lesson we give a realistic estimate. We would rather be honest than sell you a story you pay for later.
You can sit the theory exam from age 16. Lessons may start at 16.5 and you can take the practical exam from 17 via 2toDrive. From 18 you drive independently; before that with a coach beside you. For the motorcycle, you can take the category A exams from age 21.
The interim test (TTT) is a practice exam at the CBR. Not required, but smart: you experience exactly how an exam works, and if you pass you no longer need to perform a special manoeuvre in your real exam.
The re-exam guarantee comes with the Premium Ride package. If you fail your practical exam, your re-exam is already included in the package and you do not pay for it separately. The guarantee covers one re-exam.
